Algarve Civil Protection promotes training on electrical risks for more than 200 professionals

Training continues over the next week.

The Algarve Regional Command of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection started this Friday, January 20, the phase of the regional operational training program dedicated to electrical risks in intervention, aimed at the forces of permanent commitment and support of operations of the Integrated Protection and Rescue Operations System (SIOPS).

In this training product, organized in partnership with E-REDES, more than 200 operators from all Fire Brigades and Municipal Civil Protection Services in the Algarve region participate with the aim of technically improving and preparing operators to deal with electrical risks. with which they encounter in carrying out their missions.

According to the Regional Command, the theoretical component, developed by the sustainability department of E-REDES, focused on key issues for those on the ground responding to events, providing fundamental knowledge about the characterization of the various types of installations/infrastructures of the network electricity in the regional territory, namely regarding the different risks and the applicable action protocols based on the “5 golden rules” in risk assessment and control, as well as the safety distances and operational procedures in response to any accidents of this nature .

The training will continue over the next week, with a practical component that includes technical visits to the different electricity distribution facilities in the region, which will make it possible to make Firefighters and Civil Protection technicians aware of the specificities of these infrastructures and ensure greater knowledge of its dynamics, providing greater effectiveness in the intervention, especially in a situation of serious accident or catastrophe.
