Portimonense cylindered by Arouca

Paulo Sérgio's men continue to sink in the I Liga table

Portimonense added today its sixth defeat in the last seven games (in all competitions), after having lost by 4-0 against Arouca, in a game of the 17th round of the I Football League.

A result that confirmed the historic between the two clubs, favorable to the Arouquenses: four wins against two of the Algarve in seven games.

Arouca's first goal came as soon as the match had started, at 6 minutes. The Palestinian Oday Dabbagh took advantage of Alan Ruiz's pass, dribbled past Pedrão and spiked over Nakamura. The first goal of the match was scored.

In the 30th minute, forward Dabbagh threatened the Japanese goal again, but Nakamura saved it.

Two minutes later, luck no longer smiled on the Portimonense goalkeeper, who missed the ball, put it on Arsénio, who passed it to Alan Ruiz. With a hat, the Argentine increased the score to 2-0.

Until the break, the Japanese goalkeeper of the Algarve still had to defend, twice and successfully, shots from Dabbagh.

This good performance by both Nakamura, defending the Portimonense nets, and the Arouquenses, especially the Palestinian striker, would continue in the second half.

Until, in the 76th minute, Arouca scored again and again through Oday Dabbagh. The result was already 3-0.

Badly recovered, the Algarve conceded another goal in the 79th minute. This 4th Arouca goal (scored by Benjo Michel) was initially annulled, but after the referee reviewed the bid and heard the VAR ended up validating it. The defeat of the Portimonenses was deepening.

After two minutes of extra time, the match ended, with the defeat, by significant numbers, of Portimonense.

Reduced to 10 elements since the 65th minute, due to the expulsion of Seck, Portimonense, without victories in the last five games in the I Liga, occupies the 12th place, with 20 points. This first round of the championship thus ends in a difficult position.

On the other hand, the opponent added the third straight game without losing in the championship and rose to sixth, with 26 points.
