The Minister of Economy and the Sea and the Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services inaugurate next Monday, January 23, at 16 pm, the new facilities of the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Portimão (EHTP).
With an investment of 2,3 million euros, the building, located in the city's former prison, combines innovative technical spaces with sustainable and efficient features, which will increase the quality of training and reduce energy and water consumption.
With this requalification, Turismo de Portugal maintains its commitment to the training and qualification of resources in the sector, through the reinforcement of the training offer with new training areas, a focus on the digitization of programs and infrastructures that allow the development of products and research, with the possibility of being used by local entrepreneurs for the development of their own projects.
The new school has 8 classrooms equipped with the latest technology, which facilitates hybrid teaching that combines face-to-face and distance training, 2 application kitchens with state-of-the-art equipment, an auditorium with capacity for 140 people, a laboratory with kitchens individual, application bar and application restaurant, the latter open to the general public.
In addition to Minister António Costa Silva and Secretary of State Nuno Fazenda, the session will also be attended by the mayor of Portimão, Isilda Gomes, the president of Turismo de Portugal, Luís Araújo, the president of the construction company ESTAMO, António Furtado, and the director of the EHTP, Pedro Moreira.
