The municipality of Lagoa launched a new website which aims to streamline the relationship between citizens and the municipality, yesterday, Monday, the 16th, within the scope of the celebrations of the 250 years of elevation to municipality.
The renewed municipality portal should become «the central point» of the Council’s communication and assume «as an information tool that allows the user to follow all the daily activity of the municipality, articulated with the other platforms already used by the municipality in its day -a-day life, such as the social networks Facebook and Instagram».
The site «respects the different types of accessibility and the current needs from the user’s point of view» and is «a modern, intuitive and functional platform, with its own image that intends to affirm the identity and potential of the territory», according to the Chamber from Lagoa.
The new portal also has an events agenda, «which will be updated to the minute and where you can follow all the municipal programming», as well as generalized information, to facilitate the experience for those who visit the county and wish to «know more about the Municipality, our territory, customs and knowledge».
With regard to functionalities, there are several novelties, such as the possibility of «scheduling and scheduling appointments with all the Services of the Municipality, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, the possibility of attending/interacting with the citizen through chat, with an operator available from the one-stop shop, and the scheduling of face-to-face and online meetings, without the need for any other external software».
It will also be possible to consult the calendar of meetings of the City Council and the Municipal Assembly, as well as the documentation related to each of them, the possibility of registration in the period “Before the Agenda”, reserved for Intervention by citizens, among others.
«The new municipal portal is a fundamental tool in the modern world, where we want to be ever closer to the citizen and where we want greater participation of our population. The new portal has a series of new features that allow citizens, wherever they are, to participate and deal with matters without having to go to the municipal services”, said Luís Encarnação, Mayor of Lagoa.

This was one of the moments of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the elevation of Lagoa to the status of municipality, which took place yesterday.
In addition to a protocol ceremony, work began on painting a mural on the side of the Town Hall building, alluding to the commemorations of the 250th anniversary of the creation of the municipality of Lagoa.
«Throughout the day, there was a street parade through the county, with the band “Tocá Rufar”, accompanied by a standard bearer carried by citizens representing the county's associations and civil society.
The street started at 9:15 am next to the main building of the Town Hall, passed through Porches, Praia do Carvoeiro, Estômbar, Mexilhoeira da Carregação, Parchal and Ferragudo and ended at the Carlos do Carmo Municipal Auditorium, where the opening ceremony of the 250th anniversary celebrations took place.
