The completion of works on Avenida Mário Lyster Franco, in the Lejana area, in Faro, (between Estrada da Senhora da Saúde and EN2/Avenida 25 de Abril), was awarded to Grupo José de Sousa Barra & Filhos, Lda/ Rolear.ON – Soluções de Engenharia.
This was the company that submitted the proposal that won first place in the public tender for carrying out these works, which have an estimated value of 2.179.517,21 euros and a period of execution of one year.
According to the Municipality of Faro, this «important investment will guarantee a significant improvement in accessibility and fluidity in the communication routes of the city of Faro», being integrated in the large municipal project of external road connection, designated by 3rd circular.
«In the next decade, this whole area will be urbanized and we will have a new 'city' here, a new centrality", considers Rogério Bacalhau, mayor of Faro, emphasizing that the completion of this circular «will be very positive for mobility in the municipality, for those who need to enter or leave the city and, above all, for those who come to live here and for the economic activities that may develop».
This work is foreseen in the Plan's Great Options, approved by the Municipality bodies and the funds are also defined in the multi-annual charges of the autarchy.
In a note, the municipality also recalls that this new road axis will be financed through the use of a bank loan, the most economically advantageous modality for the municipality, approved in June 2021.
