AHETA and SITESE reach agreement on new salary scales in tourism

Union of Service Sector Workers is assigned to UGT

AHETA and SITESE – Union of Service Sector Workers, affiliated to UGT, reached an agreement on the salary tables, for the sector, to be in force in 2023.

According to the Associação dos Hotéis e Empreendimentos Turísticos do Algarve, the agreement follows a negotiation that began in 2022 and was “reached in social peace, without strikes or tension, and with total satisfaction of both parties”.

“At the request of AHETA and with the agreement of the union, the negotiation process will continue, now with the revision of the text of the Collective Bargaining Agreement that is in force between the two entities”, added the business association.

Salary tables dating from 2018 are currently in force. The new tables will be valid after the signature of the agreement and subsequent publication in the Labor and Employment Bulletin.

«We think we have reached a beneficial agreement for our associates with an update of the salary scales that, on the one hand, complies with the legislation and, on the other, puts the values of the levels glued to the current labor reality. With this negotiation, we also believe that we have reached a platform for renegotiating the Collective Agreement in its generality in matters relevant to our activity», believes AHETA.

«The increases agreed for the year 2023 have to do with the need to provide more attractive conditions to our employees in order to increase the fixation of more and more workers in the accommodation and tourist entertainment sector», they conclude.
