Registration open for visual arts course in Loulé

Until February 28

Entries for the Visual Arts Course promoted by the Luso-American Foundation for Development, which this year takes place in Loulé, are now open and run until the 28th of February.

After the success of the first edition, held at the Centro de Artes Contemporâneas, on the island of São Miguel, Azores, this year it will be the turn of Palácio Gama Lobo, in Loulé, to host this course for young artists, between 25 and 35 years old, who work in the areas of drawing, painting and installation/sculpture.

This is an advanced artistic training program, in which a group of up to 10 artists will have the opportunity to develop individual tutored work, with guest teachers who will provide training during each of the 8 weeks of this course, from September 15th to November 19th.

The course will be essentially practical, with a full-time atelier activity, accompanied by renowned professors, whose function will be to stimulate critical thinking and individual imagination and collaborative work.

At the end of the training period, artists will have the opportunity to present their work in a dedicated exhibition.

As part of the course, there will also be a set of three mandatory sessions that will be open to the general public.

In addition to the guest professors, the FLAD Visual Arts Course also has the mentorship of the artist Catarina Botelho and an executive producer.

Accommodation is included, as well as a production grant of 400 euros per artist for the works to be produced in the context of the course.

On the 14th of April the results will be known and the names of the 10 students who will participate in this training will be announced.
