Olhão invests 5 million in the requalification of social housing

This year, the upgrading of the Fundo de Fomento de Habitação (29 blocks), Olarias (4 blocks) and Pechão (2 blocks) neighborhoods was completed.

The investment that the Câmara de Olhão has made, in recent years, in the municipal housing stock, will amount, at the end of the year, to around 5 million euros.

As part of the intervention strategy for social housing, the rehabilitation of the Fundo de Fomento de Habitação (29 blocks), Olarias (4 blocks) and Pechão (2 blocks) neighborhoods were concluded, interventions that benefited 540 families.

On a visit to Bairro da Cavalinha, where interventions are taking place in six blocks, Ricardo Calé, councilor responsible for Public Works, announced that the requalification of Bairro Horta Dr. Padua. This is a contract that will cover 13 housing blocks, after the first tender was revoked with the contractor, who was in default.

In parallel with the requalification of the neighbourhoods, 42 dwellings were rehabilitated and the rehabilitation of another 26 is underway.
