Odiana highlights the effectiveness of the INTERPYME project and wants to focus on continuity

Project started work in 2019 and is expected to last until December 31 of this year

The INTERPYME cross-border project, which was born in the pandemic, has so far captured fifteen producers/small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) participating in various agri-food areas and has been «a success». 

So says the association Odiana, which, on the 29th of November, participated in the «Closing Days», which took place in Cádiz, Spain and served as a forum for the presentation of results.

«The success of the project, both in terms of efficiency and effectiveness, may result in a second edition with an application for new European funds», they stress.

With regard to ODIANA, the participating SMEs benefited and enjoyed personalized services to enhance their products, and therefore, the agri-food sector of the territory. Of note is the participation in three Cross-border Agri-Food fairs, three Trade Missions, an Internationalization Plan, 12 Photographic Portfolios, seven Financial Plans, 14 Consultancy, Design and Printing Services, and a Gastronomic Curatorship service that brought together, over a period of year, around 50 articles in the television, written, radio and online press.

The actions emerged as a strategy to relaunch the businesses of companies that were affected by the pandemic, with the aim of
enhance, improve and promote the competitiveness of SMEs.

 

 

Among the beneficiary companies there are products such as salt and fleur de sel, almonds, fresh and dried figs, prickly pears, butter and energy bars, fresh goat cheese, ham and sausages, traditional sweets, jams, honey, citrus fruits, and processed products made with the most identifiable local products.

This project, «whose objective was to promote opportunities in terms of financing, promotion and internationalization for SMEs in the agri-food sector and gastronomic tourism», started work in 2019 and is expected to last until 31 December of this year, with the support of the Municipalities of Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António.
