The Parish Church of Bensafrim will be the stage this Saturday, December 17th, at 18:30 pm, for a concert by the Algarve Guitar Youth Orchestra, organized by the Guitar Association of the Algarve in partnership with the Union of Parishes of Bensafrim and Barão de S. João.
On stage will be 40 young people, from various locations in the Algarve, who will be directed by Eudoro Grade.
The concert program presents a set of works that are part of the history of OJGA, as well as the work “Viagens”, by the composer Miguel Jesus, whose theme is part of the journey to encounter Nature.
The Orquestra Juvenil de Guitarras do Algarve is a regional project with a national scope in which young people are the main interlocutors and actors. The general dynamics is based on the area of music and is based on coordinates considered to be of cultural and social importance in the objective dynamics of good practices.
The Algarve Guitar Youth Orchestra was created in 2001 by the Algarve Guitar Association, involving young people from eight municipalities in the Algarve, represented by local institutions, namely the Union of Parishes of Bensafrim and Barão de São João, the Clube de Instrução e Recreio Mexilhoeirense, the Parish Council of Monchique, the Parish Council of Aljezur, the Parish Council of Marmelete, the Conservatório Regional do Algarve Maria Campina, the Casa do Povo de São Bartolomeu de Messines, the Escola de Artes Mestre Fernando Rodrigues and the Church Ferreiras Parish.
Support is given by the respective municipalities and by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
