The writer Lídia Jorge will present her most recent book, “Mercy, on the 12th of December, at 18 pm, at the Sophia de Melo Breyner Municipal Library, in Loulé.
In a note, the Câmara de Loulé describes the literary work, now presented under the rubric “Livros Abertos”, as one of the most audacious of Portuguese literature in recent times.
This is the diary of the last year of a woman's life, who incorporates into her account the brilliance of her intersecting existences in a concentrated environment and becomes an admirable testimony of the human condition.
The presentation of the work is in charge of José Carlos Vasconcelos and has free admission. The sale of books will be ensured by Casa do Meio-Dia.
