A documentary and museum exhibition on the First World War (1914-18) and the impact that the conflict had on the Baixo Guadiana region will be on display from Friday, November 11, at the Castro Marim Local Market.

The exhibition, developed by the Vila Real de Santo António Nucleus of the Liga dos Combatentes in conjunction with the Parish Council and the Municipality of Castro Marim, «exposes some of the aspects that affected the daily life of the Baixo Guadiana region, during and after the end of the conflict, revealing lesser known aspects or relegated to the background», according to the Castro-Marinense Chamber.

“The Great War and the Impact on the Baixo Guadiana region” «is an important contribution to the narrative about this dramatic period in our history and the way it influenced the culture and identity of our territory».

The exhibition is open until the 30th of November and can be visited every day between 9:00 am and 13:00 pm and from 14:30 pm to 17:30 pm.
