Lagos, Portimão and Vilamoura marinas at the Southampton International Boat Show

53rd edition of the biggest British event dedicated to nautical tourism took place between 16 and 25 September

The Marinas of Lagos, Portimão and Vilamoura participated, between the 16th and 25th of September, in the 53rd edition of the Southampton International Boat Show, the largest British event dedicated to nautical tourism and one of the international references in the sector.

The event reached the record number of exhibitors and boats, in an area of ​​70 thousand square meters, and had a total of 685 stands. More than 650 vessels were on display, of which about 300 were boats that were moored in the largest event marina in Europe. The event also welcomed 126 new companies and hosted 167 world premieres.

The Algarve Tourism Association / VisitAlgarve, together with the Marinas of Lagos, Portimão and Vilamoura, were present in this initiative, within the scope of the ALGARVE PREMIUM Project – Program for the Internationalization of Products of Excellence.

The ALGARVE PREMIUM Project is the result of a partnership between NERA – Associação Empresarial da Região do Algarve, the Algarve Tourism Region and the Algarve Tourism Association and its main objective is to promote the internationalization of excellent products from the Algarve region in the Agrifood sectors. and Sea, Cultural and Creative Tourism and Nautical Tourism, in order to increase its recognition, notoriety and international visibility.

In a note, NERA states that this Project aims to reinforce the international promotion of Nautical Tourism, focusing on the “Marinas do Algarve” product as a tourist product of excellence. In this context, in addition to the implementation of a vast International Promotion Plan, the creation, promotion and training of a strategic collaborative network dedicated to Marinas in the Algarve is planned.
