Future Eco Surf School, a surf school located in Praia da Rocha, Portimão, has joined the B Corp movement, a group of companies around the world that are committed to improving the social and environmental impact of their economic activities.
“The B Corp movement has already reached 83 countries, integrating around 5600 companies and a total of more than 450 workers and continues to grow. Each company has gone through a careful accreditation process, in order to be able to join a global movement that has only one objective: to influence changes in economic processes, in order to support the collective vision of a more inclusive, fair and regenerative economy” , explains the Future Eco Surf School.
The social and ecological priority assumed by Future Eco Surf, since 2020, in its economic mission, has put the Algarve surf school in perfect harmony with the B Corp movement. The change can be seen in the restructuring and constant improvement of operational strategies and procedures.
Improve the quality of life of employees and involve customers and partners in this greater objective of taking care of our planet and contributing to a more balanced and conscious community.
“A better future is achieved daily in several small steps, namely using 'environmentally friendly' materials, converting the van fleet into electric vehicles, buying locally, minimizing waste by transforming and reusing obsolete equipment, such as neoprene suits (in new and useful bags, suitcases, laptop covers or lunch boxes) and surfboards (in new surfboards or decorative materials)”, adds the surf school.
“We believe in a better future. This is the school's motto. This has been the spirit since 1998 and recently it has materialized in concrete actions, namely annual donations of one percent of gross revenues and also the value of the carbon footprint, to ecological projects of non-environmental organizations around the world.
