The Loulé Interior Forum discusses the present and future of the interior of this municipality, on the 22nd of October, at Nave do Barão (Salir).
This initiative will include the presentation, at 9:30 am, of a document that is the result of an informal working group, concerned with the needs and weaknesses of those who live and work within the municipality of Loulé.
This working group includes Abílio Sousa, councilor of the Loulé Chamber, António Martins, president of the Alte Parish Council, Francisco Rodrigues, president of the Salir Parish Council, Joaquim Costa, Joaquim Sarmento, José Carrusca, president of the Parish Council do Ameixial, Manuel Costa, Margarida Correia, president of the Union of Parishes of Querença, Tôr and Benafim, and Rute Leal.
«The interior of the municipality of Loulé corresponds to 66% of the total area of the municipality, with successive decades losing population, where the aging of the still residents is accentuated. The urgency of integrated measures that contribute to halting and, if possible, reversing, the process of depopulation and desertification is evident», underlines the working group made up of Abílio Sousa, António Martins, Francisco Rodrigues, Joaquim Costa, Joaquim Sarmento, José Carrusca, Manuel Costa, Margarida Correia and Rute Leal.
Public entities, associations and other organizations and people are being invited to this meeting that, through their contribution, can be decisive in the reflection and subsequent implementation of the proposed measures.
The organization calls for the active participation of all those who, by residence, activity or other affinities, have a connection to the territory, because only with commitment and cooperation, joining knowledge and knowledge, availabilities and resources, will it be possible to undertake revitalization measures with chances of success.
