The Guarda Nacional Republicana detained, between 19 and 25 September, in the district of Faro, 56 people and seized 163 doses of heroin.
The operation to prevent and combat violent crime, road inspection, among others, also recorded the seizure of 141 doses of lemongrass, 68 doses of cocaine, 47 doses of hashish, two automatic knives, two vehicles, three mobile phones and 2 euros in cash.
Within the scope of the arrests, 20 were for driving under the influence of alcohol, 13 for driving without a legal license and thefor drug trafficking.
As for traffic, there were 619 infractions: 184 for speeding, 56 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 48 for lack or incorrect use of the seat belt and/or child restraint system, 30 for improper use of the cell phone while driving, 29 for lack of civil liability, 29 related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems and 15 related to tires.
In this period there were still 120 accidents with one seriously injured and 26 minor injuries. In awareness-raising actions, 54 people were sensitized under the Safe School and 24 elderly people under the Safe Seniors Program.
