The works carried out during the second edition of the São Brás de Alportel Inclusive Vacation Program gave rise to the AcordARTE exhibition, inaugurated this Wednesday, the 7th, in the lobby of Cineteatro São Brás.
The exhibition will be open during the month of September and features painting, collages and the creation of musical instruments from reused objects and materials that promoted «a sensorial awakening of these young people who have in common a situation of some disability and/or incapacity, and through from this experience they discovered some of their talents and creativity», the municipality says in a note.
The holiday program is aimed at young people from 16 to 30 years old, took place between July and August, at Espaço Inclusão, a place provided by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de São Brás de Alportel, which is being prepared for this type of activity and included with a team of three alternating monitors and six volunteers.
In addition to the sensory and artistic awakening activities, the young people also had the opportunity to get in touch with horses on a visit to the Equestrian Center – Espaço Baixa Lusitânia, located in the municipality.
«The success of these two editions of the Inclusive Holidays program, promoted in the summers of 2021 and 2022, reinforced the importance of these initiatives both for the young participants and for their families», says the Municipality, adding that it is preparing to launch a program of regular activities, starting in October, aimed at young people participating in the 2022 Inclusive Vacation Program, as well as other young people with disabilities and/or disabilities who are not integrated in other activity programs.
