The Lagos City Council approved the partnership protocol with the Specialized Nucleus for the Inclusive Citizen (NECI), with the objective of involving the municipality in the project “Route to inclusion – in Terras do Infante”, with a view to promoting, integrating and including place for people with disabilities.
After the cessation of the social response of the Occupational Activities Center, within the scope of changes in the legislative framework, the Activities and Training Centers for Inclusion emerged, focused on new challenges, such as the promotion of autonomy, independent living and quality of life. , personal, professional and social inclusion of people with disabilities.
The project, approved under the National Project Financing Program of the National Institute for Rehabilitation, falls within the thematic area "B - Employability and Qualification" which aims to promote social and professional inclusion, through the construction of an inter-municipal structure whose main recipients are the users of the NECI Activities and Training Center for Inclusion.
«Within the scope of this protocol, the municipality assumes, among others, the commitment to provide a physical infrastructure for training and development of personal, social and professional skills for people with disabilities and disabilities, users of the CACI social response, as well as support logistics for the punctual provision of human resources, the cultural center and the auditorium, and dissemination of the project's initiatives on institutional sites and communication channels», stresses the municipality in a note.
To this end, it was necessary to find a space, in which the Chamber will invest a sum of more than 26 thousand euros, intended for the recovery of the headquarters of the Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve Region (ACRAL).
The transfer of a part of ACRAL's headquarters, perfectly integrated into the city and the community, was, according to the Municipality, the space found and that best adapted to the needs, in order to accommodate the various valences and where all the activities will be carried out. inherent to the project.
