The Moncarapacho Summer Carnival is back this Saturday, August 6th, from 21:30 pm, with floats, lots of fun and revelry.
On the route between Praça Major João Xavier de Castanheda (Largo da Junta de Freguesia) and Praça da República (Largo da Igreja Matriz), nine floats and about 250 extras will parade – a procession that also includes a group of animators made up of by clowns, jugglers and luminous figures.
After the parade, at Praça Major João Xavier de Castanheda, the animation continues with the performance of DJ Flip d' Palm.
The Carnival of Moncarapacho is known for the floats covered with small paper flowers, which gives it the nickname “Batalha das Flores”.
The Moncarapacho Summer Carnival celebrated its 122nd edition this year.
With free admission, the organization is from the Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuseta and has the support of the Municipality of Olhão and the collaboration of the local population.
