Lagos council and schools united in the creation of specialized technology centers

Protocols will cover various technician qualifications

At the last meeting, the Lagos Chamber approved the signing of collaboration protocols with the Júlio Dantas and Gil Eanes school groups, with the objective of creating and equipping specialized technological centers.

According to the municipality, groups of schools in the municipality of Lagos are preparing applications, within the scope of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, with a view to installing and modernizing Specialized Technological Centers, and the Júlio Dantas School Group intends to present applications for the creation of an Industrial CTE and a Computer CTE, while the Gil Eanes School Group will invest in the creation of an industrial CTE and a Renewable Energy CTE.

One of the criteria for evaluating applications is to identify and highlight partnerships with the local and regional administration, and for this purpose the establishment of collaboration protocols is relevant, «so the aforementioned applications are reinforced with this support from the municipality of Lagos», says Sara Coelho, councilor responsible for education, adding that «this protocol will allow groups to have rooms of excellence, well equipped and prepared for technical and technological challenges».

The protocols will include qualifications of electrotechnical technician, electrical installation technician, electronics technician, automation and command, automotive mechatronics technician, reception technician, kitchen/pastry technician, restaurant/bar technician and tourism technician.

«These applications represent an opportunity to reinforce the attractiveness of secondary-level dual certification training in areas of specialization that require highly qualified labor and are part of a process of technological change accelerated by the challenges of the climate transition and the digital transition» , stresses the municipality.
