Students from the Pinheiro e Rosa cooking and pastry course are at World Skills Portugal

The competition is aimed at young people between the ages of 17 and 25 who are studying education and professional training.

Maria Pristen, André Cardeira and Patrícia Silva, students from Escola Secundária Pinheiro e Rosa, are participating in World Skills Portugal in the kitchen modality.

The three students were chosen by the chefs André Pereira Rodrigues and Luís de Almeida e Jesus to participate in the professions championship - a competition aimed at young people between 17 and 25 years old, who have completed or are currently attending a qualification course, in modalities of education and professional training.

According to André Pereira Rodrigues, the competition «aims to demonstrate skills, rigor and mastery of techniques and tools for the exercise of the profession in the competition through the realization of practical performance tests evaluated according to demanding criteria and in accordance with technical requirements established internationally by juries composed of highly qualified experts (trainers, professionals, entrepreneurs)'.

After five years of working together, the team of teachers has the maximum goal of aligning the way of teaching and acting with the objectives of both the course and the day to day of these future kitchen professionals.

The first phase of the competition, which is the pre-selection, is scheduled for September 26 and will be held in the school's pedagogical kitchen, being broadcast through the channels of the competition's organization.
