The Municipality of Aljezur installed four bike stations, made up of a 100% recycled plastic structure, in strategic locations along the course of the Eurovelo project, in the municipality of Aljezur, for the service and maintenance of bicycles. The stations were placed in Odeceixe, Rogil, Aljezur and Carrapateira.
The municipality emphasizes that this equipment is "indispensable not only for those who practice cyclotourism, but also for those who use the bicycle as a means of transport or leisure, providing all the services necessary for the maintenance of bicycles, namely, changing tires, repairing brakes, changing the chain, among others.
«These initiatives and investments are part of the municipality's sustainable mobility policy and promotion of the use of smooth mobility means, and aim to raise awareness and promote the use of alternative and environmentally friendly means of locomotion and which, in addition to allowing a reduction in CO2 emissions, make it possible to stimulate the practice of physical activity and sports, thus contributing to the well-being and healthy development of populations», explains the Aljezur Chamber.
