A «fusion between the exotic flavors of Asia and the Portuguese gastronomic tradition». This is what Sensai promises, a new restaurant at Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort that opens its doors this Thursday, July 21st.

«At Sensai you will be able to taste classic dishes from China, Japan, India and Thailand, in which fresh and seasonal Portuguese products will be integrated, in a tribute to the maritime history of Portugal during the Discoveries and an allusion to what was the spice trade» , says Anantara, in a press release.

The new restaurant's menu was prepared by Head executive Bruno Viegas and for his multicultural team, of which the Head Portuguese-Japanese Fábio Terada.

Sensai will, moreover, include a selection of sushi, by the hand of Fábio Terada.

Signature dishes include a Portuguese version of Peking duck, a spicy carabineiro shrimp tartare with tobiko roe and avocado and a coconut milk curry inspired by Anantara's Thai roots.

“The extensive selection of artisanal nigiri, maki, sashimi and usuzukuri will also be one of the highlights of the meal. The menu also includes Omakase Sushi, Ramen 'Como um Cozido à Portuguesa' (a fusion of the classic Japanese noodle soup with Portuguese stew) and Fish and Shrimp Ramen 'Algarvian style'», according to this hotel.

The desserts are created by chef João Silva.
