Albufeira: Army Light Orchestra gives concert at Praça dos Pescadores

José Carlos Rolo, Mayor of Albufeira, and Nunes da Fonseca, Chief of Staff of the Army, will be present

The Portuguese Army Light Orchestra gives a summer concert next Friday, July 29, at 21:30 pm, at Praça dos Pescadores, in Albufeira.

This is the first time that the Army Light Orchestra will perform in Praça dos Pescadores.

The show is aimed at the general public and will be attended by José Carlos Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, and Nunes da Fonseca, chief of staff of the Army.

The Army Light Orchestra (OLE), created in 1979, is directed by Chief Sergeant Cândido Ameixa. Its structure, in the style of a Big Band, is composed of five saxophones (flute, clarinet), four trumpets (fliscorne), four trombones, two keyboards, two violas, drums, percussion and four vocalists.

Themes like “Let's Groove”, “Bang, Bang”, “I've got you under my skin” and “Jump” will be played in Praça, along with tributes to Carlos do Carmo, Queen and Aretha Franklin.

It will also be possible to hear songs by Bruno Mars, Wind Machine, In the Mood, Heróis do Mar and some of the best fados in the history of Portuguese music.

The voices will be by Alice Costa, João de Campos, Lina Rodrigues and Renata Marinho.
