Arrifana and Odeceixe-Mar beaches have already hoisted their blue flag

Nine beaches in the municipality of Aljezur received the Gold Quality Flag

The ceremony to raise the Blue Flag on the beaches of Arrifana and Odeceixe-Mar, in Aljezur, took place on the 6th of July, announced the Aljezur City Council.

The municipality stresses, in a press release, that "the display of this award, a symbol of quality and excellence, awarded by ABAE - Associação Bandeira Azul da Europa, attests to the quality of the municipality's bathing waters, the support infrastructures and the information actions and environmental education carried out on the beaches, thus giving prestige to the municipality of Aljezur as a tourist destination».

The ceremony was attended by members of the Aljezur City Council, namely the councilor António Carvalho, the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), the Captain of the Port of Lagos/Maritime Authority, the presidents of the Parish Councils and the concessionaires of the respective beaches.

Nine beaches in the municipality of Aljezur, namely Amado, Amoreira-Mar, Amoreira-Rio, Arrifana, Bordeira, Monte Clérigo, Odeceixe, were also awarded the Gold Quality Flag, awarded by Quercus – National Association for the Conservation of Nature. -Mar, Vale dos Homens and Vale Figueiras.

This award recognizes the beaches in the municipality that, over five consecutive years or more, have consistently presented excellent quality bathing water, and which, in this sense, offer greater reliability in terms of water quality.
