The temporary exhibition of replicas of old boats from the beaches of Albufeira, built by the hands of David Guerreiro, sculptor and former local fisherman, will open, on the 1st of July, at 20:30, the new exhibition room in Olhos de Água, announced the Albufeira and Olhos de Água Parish Council.
The culture will continue with the magnificent voice of Carol, «another talent from Albufeira, who is a finalist for Portugal Got Talent, a battle of the judges and a doppler fest, where she will present her new album «A Porta».
There will also be a performance by the traditional Rancho Folclórico dos Olhos de Água and a dance show by the association LUEL – Arte em Movimento.
In the new cultural space, there will also be, throughout the year, a permanent exhibition, with artefacts used in agriculture or fishing, of old photographic records of Olhos de Água, namely by the iconic photographer Artur Pastor.
According to Indaleta Cabrita, president of the Parish Council, “we want to keep alive the traditions of Albufeira and Olhos de Água, spread our history and support local artists, these are very important measures for residents and to attract quality tourism, as it deals with our identity that must continue to be valued, and nothing better than giving voice and conditions to our artists who are the best ambassadors of our beautiful parish”.
