Hydrographic Institute updates Nautical Chart of Faro and Olhão

The Hydrographic Institute of the Portuguese Navy published the 3rd edition of the Nautical Chart 26311 – May 2022 “Barra e Portos de Faro and Olhão”, which replaces the previous edition, published in May 2004.

​“This letter responds to the need to update the cartography of the National Cartographic Folio”, says the Portuguese Navy.

The Navy highlights «the conversion of this Nautical Chart from the European Datum 1950 (ED50) to the World Geodetic System (WGS84), aligning it with modern positioning systems, and the integration of topo-hydrographic surveys, carried out this year in Barra and channel Faro».
