The Auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Lagos and the Auditorium Carlos do Carmo in Lagoa will host, on the 18th and 19th of June, the show “Lugar”, by the Cultural Associations Questão Repetida and ARTIS XXI.
“Lugar” is a multidisciplinary creative project that crosses music, photography, illustration and video, whose objective is to «honor the ancestral wealth of the Algarve by exploring its tales and legends and bringing two of its most iconic legends: The Amendoeiras legend (Silves ) and The legend of Floripes (Olhão)».
According to ARTIS XXI, the show intends to lead the listener to imagine what is being told, since from the images and the word will be created «a musical atmosphere whose function is to intertwine with the fluency of the speeches and underline the affections that come from the unfolding of the action, by a combination of themes from the traditional Algarve songbook and the Baroque period».
The music is in charge of the Orquestra D'Aquém Mar, with composition by Teresa Gentil, narration by Ana Falé, illustration by Mónica Catalá, animation by Tiago Marques and photography by Jorge Marques. The Artistic Direction is by Elsa Mathei and Ana Falé.
This is a project co-produced by the Cultural Associations Questão Repetida and Artis XXI and supported by DGARTES – Directorate-General for the Arts and which seeks to reach the most culturally isolated and deprived communities.
