The Municipality of Aljezur will support local associations with more than 200 thousand euros.
The support protocols between the municipality and several local associations were signed on the 15th of June, within the scope of this authority's powers in terms of social action, sport and culture.
The contract signing ceremony was attended by the BVA Humanitarian Association, Grupo Desportivo Odeceixense, Rancho Folclórico do Rogil, Juventude Clube Aljezurense, Clube dos Amigos da Carrapateira, Associação Tertúlia, Clube de Surf de Aljezur, AMOVATE and the PNSACV Professional Seafood Association, with the Aljezur Heritage Defense Association, the Algarve Guitar Association and the São Vicente de Paulo Society yet to be signed.
«The protocol aims to support the local associations of the municipality, which play a fundamental role in the daily lives of the people of Aljezur, through funds and logistical support, so that they can maintain their activities for the benefit of the whole community», emphasizes the municipality of Aljustrel.
This session also highlighted the role over the years of the intervention of associativism in society and how it now gains a new importance and the commitment was made that, later this year, a joint meeting will be held between the Parish Councils, the City Council, and associations, to deepen the possibility of collaborations and
partnerships between associations and municipalities, the problems and challenges for the future.
