A piece by the artist Tó Quintas that celebrates 30 years of Versus Tuna – Tuna Académica da Universidade do Algarve, will be inaugurated this Saturday, May 7, at 16 pm, at “O Seu Café”, in Faro.
It was in this establishment that, on October 25, 1991, José Artur Melo, João Catarino and Rogério Leal, at the time, students from the University of Algarve with proven evidence in the student movement, met with one objective: to found an academic tuna.
«Thirty years later, this piece, conceived with the collaboration of the renowned artist Tó Quintas, aims to reproduce and immortalize the moment in which the name Versus Tuna – Tuna Académica da Universidade do Algarve emerged. Versus, in allusion to the lyrical verses, typical of musical lyric, but also versus contestation, revolution, representing the affirmation of student culture in the Algarve capital», says this academic tuna.
This inauguration will be attended by representatives of the different generations of tunantes.
