Algarve MPs from PS dedicate regional parliamentary days to water

Jamila Madeira, Jorge Botelho, Luís Graça, Isabel Guerreiro and Francisco Oliveira were elected PS deputies for the Algarve

The PS deputies, elected by the Algarve, will promote this Saturday, May 14, some regional parliamentary days with the motto “Guarantee water, guarantee the future”. 

Jamila Madeira, Jorge Botelho, Luís Graça, Isabel Guerreiro and Francisco Oliveira begin the day with a meeting, at 10:00 am, with the Association of Irrigators and Beneficiaries of Alvor, followed by a visit to the works in progress at the Bravura dam, in Lagos.

PS parliamentarians will then go on a visit, at 11:30 am, to the rehabilitation and water efficiency works underway in the Silves irrigation perimeter, where they will meet with the Association of Irrigators and Beneficiaries of Silves, Lagoa and Portimão.

The Algarve Water Efficiency Plan and the implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), which provides for investments of around 200 million euros in water, will be the theme of the meeting, which will take place at 14:00 pm, with the Associação of Municipalities of the Algarve, Águas do Algarve, EP, Portuguese Environment Agency, Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Algarve and the Regional Coordination Commission of the Algarve.

Then, at 16:00 pm, a visit to Quinta da Campina, in Tavira, to observe water-saving management techniques on that farm.

The parliamentary days on water ended with a meeting, at 17:30 pm, with the Association of Blue Beneficiaries of the Sotavento do Algarve Irrigation Plan, in Tavira.
