Loulé will have an Office for Transparency and Combating Corruption as proposed by the PSD

Motion was approved by AM Louletana

A PSD proposal for the creation of an Office for Transparency and Fight against Corruption in the Loulé Municipal Assembly was approved on Friday, the 22nd, at the most recent meeting of this Loulé municipal body.

The motion was approved with the favorable votes of the PSD, CDS and CHEGA, and the abstentions of the PS, Bloco de Esquerda, PAN and CDU.

For the PSD, «as the Municipal Assembly is the supervisory body of the municipality's municipal activities, it makes perfect sense that it can monitor the work of monitoring compliance with the rules regarding the public procurement of goods, people and services, as well as the efficient operation of the services of the City Council'.

One of the objectives of this office will also include monitoring the Risk Management Plan for Corruption and Related Infractions, a document that has existed in the municipality for some years, but which, according to Cláudio Lima, president of the PSD Loulé, «has not been given due attention. attention on the part of those who manage the City Council».

«It is regrettable that the executive of the Municipality of Loulé and the Socialist Party bench did not accompany the PSD in a matter of such great importance», underlines Cláudio Lima.

«We have been registering an increase in the number of anonymous complaints received by the PSD, reporting situations that we can easily relate to as corrupt practices. We will not condone situations of this nature and we will do everything to ensure that the population increases their levels of trust in public institutions”, he continued.

“We want the perception of the relationship with the Chamber, whether to apply for a license, compete for a public procurement procedure, or simply ask for intervention to solve your problem in a certain area, to happen in a fair, serious and impartial way”, he added. the president of the PSD of Loulé.

“We will not let suspicions of fraud or favoritism continue to hover, because we believe that the practices of a minority should not harm the many good employees that the Loulé City Council has at its service”, he concluded.
