New platform presented at the Cohesion Forum puts European Funds in the palm of your hand

New Kohesio platform features an interactive map that allows you to geographically obtain data on 1,5 million projects

European Commissioner Elisa Ferreira presented, this Thursday, the new Kohesio platform, which allows exploring on the map of the European Union (EU) more than 1,5 million projects financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), European social fund. (ESF) and cohesion fund in the current Community framework.

The presentation of the new tool for consulting the financial support managed by the Financial Commission took place at the opening session of the 8th Cohesion Forum, in Brussels, under the motto "Recover, Rebuild, Reconnect", where around two thousand participants reflected on the role that cohesion policy plays a role in improving the well-being of all people living in Europe.

“The projects financed by the cohesion policy will have no secrets”, maintained Elisa Ferreira, stressing that “thanks to the Kohesio platform, the cohesion policy becomes even more open and transparent. With just a few clicks, anyone can find out exactly how the EU invests in our regions and cities to promote economic, social and territorial convergence and cohesion.”

The new Kohesio platform features an interactive map that provides geographical data on the 1,5 million projects of the current 2014-2020 community framework, including links to the respective programs and funds, as well as information on half a million beneficiaries and the phase they are in, covering more than 300 thematic and regional operational programs in the 27 Member States.

The Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) of the Algarve Region was represented by its president José Apolinário, at this Forum, which brought together EU institutions, national, regional and local authorities from all Member States, social and economic partners, organizations non-governmental organizations and representatives of the academic sector, in person and virtually.
