Lagos: Júlio Dantas Group joins the High Performance Support Network at School

Money needed to equip a study room to support the project will be guaranteed by the Chamber

The Lagos Chamber will give a subsidy of 4500 euros to the Júlio Dantas School Group so that it can equip the study room dedicated to the special project of the High Performance Support Units at School, to which this group joined as an external school.

The UAARE National Program – High-Performance Support Units «promotes the conciliation of school activity with the practice of sports by student-athletes, from basic and secondary education, framed in the high-performance regime, integrated in national teams, and student-athletes with potential sports talent», according to the Lacobrigense Chamber.

“In the immediate impossibility of expanding the network of UAARE schools, the Agrupamento de Escolas Júlio Dantas is given access to the Special Project External Schools to the UAARE network, through the support of the UAARE ESPAMOL school in Lagoa”, explained the municipality.

"In this context, and as a strategic objective of the municipality to support activities of relevance and interest in the field of education and sport, this financial support of 4500 euros will allow the grouping of schools to equip (furniture and IT) the study room assigned to the project", he added.

At Júlio Dantas Secondary School, there is, for now, «a group of eight students/athletes integrated in levels I and II of handball (6 students) and speed skating (students)», but with the perspective it is «growing» .

«On the part of the school, the first stages of the implementation process have already started: constitution of a multidisciplinary team (with accompanying teacher, psychologist, class directors and other teachers), meeting with students/athletes and parents, contact with clubs and Federations , identification of space for a study room and support equipment to be acquired», concluded the Lagos Chamber.
