The 20th Sports Gala will take place next Saturday, March 26, at 19:00 pm, at the Teatro Municipal de Portimão.
This is “a ceremony of tribute and public recognition to the Portimão champions who contributed to the undeniable sporting success of the municipality of Portimão during the 2020/2021 sports season”.
The event, which this year is part of the March Jovem program, will distinguish with gold, silver and bronze awards, the 31 coaches and 198 athletes who stood out in the 2020/201 sports season, in 30 modalities at regional, national and international level.
The ceremony, in addition to honoring the athletes who stood out during the 2020/2021 season, will also highlight the entities or personalities that have contributed to the development and sporting merit of the county or sport in general.
After the cancellation in 2021 due to the pandemic situation in the country, the Sports Gala returns to its in-person format.
And, as 2021 was the year of the Olympic Games, the municipality will also honor the athletes from Portimão who obtained Olympic diplomas in Tokyo: Yolanda Hopkins, João Vieira and Luís Costa.
Entrance to the ceremony is free, and the public can pick up the ticket from the 25th of March, from 13:00 pm to 18:00 pm, at the TEMPO ticket office, until the room is full.
