Faro marks “Reading Week” with writers and poetry circle

This year's edition will take place both in online format, through videoconference, and in person format.

Faro will mark, from the 22nd to the 30th of March, the “Reading Week” with meetings with writers, a workshop and a “Poetry Wheel”.

This year's edition will take place both in online format, through videoconference, and in person, in the Library Auditorium.

There will be three meetings with writers: on the 22nd, there will be the online presentation of the book “Uma casa”, with text by Joana Barrela and illustration by Cristina Arvana, and artistic expression activity, with online sessions with the writer Ana Pessoa on the 24th. and 25.

The sessions with Bruno Matos, author of the collection “A Família Monstro”, will take place in the Auditorium of the Library, on the 28th and 29th.

«These meetings are aimed at students from schools in the municipality of Faro, and cover from the 1st cycle to the secondary", explains the Chamber of Faro.

The program also includes the workshop “Desfiar a Escrita – Potenciar a Leitura” with Margarida Fonseca Santos, which is aimed at reading teachers and mediators and takes place on the 23rd, and the lecture “The Chemistry that we can find in literary works”, by the Professor Sérgio Rodrigues, from the University of Coimbra, on the 30th.

The latter is part of the “Páginas de Ciência” project, the result of a partnership between the Municipal Library of Faro and the Clube de Ciência Viva at Escola Secundária João de Deus.

On the 8th there will also be a visit to the Library and a Poetry Wheel – in an articulation between the Municipal Library and the School Library of the Agrupamento de Escolas do Montenegro, within the scope of the Erasmus Project “Les arts fédérateurs d'union européenne”.
