Active cases of Covid-19 fall in Portugal for the second day in a row

Number of hospitalized had a slight increase

There are 1154 fewer active cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) today, Sunday, March 6. It is the second consecutive day that there is a decrease in the number of active infections in Portugal.

Today, according to the DGS bulletin, the Algarve registers 840 more cases and one death and the Alentejo has 585 more infected, but no fatalities.

Nationally, 10.066 more cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, a figure lower than that recorded this Saturday (13.696).

The fact that 11.203 people have recovered from the disease has led to a decrease in active cases, which are now 478.148 across the country.

With regard to hospitalizations, there was a slight increase (+19) to 1208. Even so, the number of people in Intensive Care Units decreased (-3) to 82.

With regard to deaths, the DGS counts 17 more across the country. In addition to the one that occurred in the Algarve, there were 8 deaths in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 4 in the Center and 4 in the North.

Regarding the risk matrix, it will only be updated tomorrow, which means that, since Friday, the R(t) has remained at 0,78 nationally and at 0,76, excluding the Azores and Madeira.

The incidence is 1512,7 cases of infection per 100 thousand inhabitants, nationwide, and 1432 cases, only on the mainland.
