Petanque Association of the Barlavento Algarve and Sudoeste Alentejano resumes activities

Énio Messia was reappointed as president

The Barlavento Algarvio and Sudoeste Alentejano Petanque Association (APBASA) will resume this Sunday, March 13, its competitions, with Énio Messia being reappointed as president. 

The opening tournament takes place from 9:00 am, with the support of the affiliated club, Estrela de Bensafrim, next to the headquarters.

This initiative also celebrates the 15th anniversary of the association, which is headquartered in the municipality of Lagos, and which for this season has 11 affiliated clubs, with around 350 male and female athletes.

This season, the association will organize, in addition to the tournaments of the affiliated clubs, the qualifications for the Portuguese Petanque Federation events, in the four aspects, shooting and precision competition, hand to hand, doublet and triplet.

It will also be in dispute for the title of regional champions of the association in the same aspects, in a calendar of competitions that ends in October.

This calendar also includes Federation competitions that are organized by the Association: the Triplets final, which takes place in Monchique, with the support of Clube Desportivo e Cultural da Nave, the Interassociations Cup, which takes place in Portimão, with the support of Petanque Group of Portimão, with the possibility of holding the Portuguese Cup, in the city of Lagos, with the support of CCDTCMLagos, awaiting the result of the application.
