Finnish surfer rescued off Tonel beach

Surfer had «some signs of tiredness»

A 30-year-old Finnish surfer was rescued this Monday, February 14th, after being caught by a stream, about 1800 meters from Tonel beach, in Sagres.

The alert was received at 14:30 pm and elements of the local Command of the Maritime Police of Lagos and a vessel from the Sagres Lifeguard Station were immediately activated.

According to the National Maritime Authority, the surfer had «some signs of tiredness», and was eventually rescued to the port of Baleeira, where she was assisted by elements of INEM and the Volunteer Firefighters of Vila do Bispo.
