Farense lost 0-1 to Leixões, in a game of the 18th round of the II Football League, played this Monday, January 17, at Estádio S. Luís, in Faro.

Despite the enthusiasm due to the debut of the new coach, the first part did not have a very different Farense.

The Algarve had little game, few chances and football without great ideas.

Leixões didn't dazzle either, but it was better. In the 26th minute, the main moment of the first half came. Sapara scored, after converting in the best way a penalty much contested by the Algarve.

Farense's best opportunity was at 35′, in a header by Madi, after a free-kick, which forced the Leixões goalkeeper to make a good save.

In the second part, the story was different. The Algarve team came in determined to get the tie – and dominated all incidents. At 52′, Bruno Paz was close, but the shot hit the post.

At 74′, Bandarra also hit the post, in a great shot at the entrance of the area.

Farense tried well, but failed to reach the goal and added another defeat. the team of Faro has the same 14 points and is in 16th place, in a relegation play-off position, with two games less.
