Jamila Madeira (PS) is the first MP elected by the Algarve

With eight municipalities with voting closed in the Algarve, PS stands out in the lead (41,59%)

Jamila Madeira (PS) is the first MP elected by the Algarve in the Legislative Elections of 30 January. With eight municipalities already with the votes closed, the PS leads in a prominent way (41,59%).

The head of the Socialists' list was thus re-elected to Parliament, a role he had already held four times before.

She was Assistant Secretary of State and Health in the outgoing government of António Costa.

Before, from 2004 to 2009, she was an MEP. Between 2000 and 2004, she was general secretary of the Socialist Youth.
