interMEDio and Som Riscado are voting for the Iberian Festival Awards

The Loulé festivals interMEDio and Som Riscado are among the candidates for the Iberian Festival Awards, voting is taking place until the 31st of January.

Debuting in these wanderings, the Som Riscado Festival is nominated for Best Festival, Best Indoor Festival, Best Cultural Program, Best Space (in this case for the Cineteatro Louletano, the main stage of the event) and Best Performance, with the performance of the Miramar project (Frankie Chavez and Pisces).

On the other hand, interMEDio (Festival MED – Special Edition), a unique event born in 2021, organized in a festival model adapted to the pandemic situation, follows in the footsteps of MED in these awards and integrates the nominations in the categories of Best Festival, Best Communication and Marketing Strategy, Best Lusophone and Hispanic Festival and Best Performance.

In relation to the latter category, interMEDio competes with three shows that marked its unique edition, namely «the concert that brought together on stage Tristany&Prétu, in a commission for interMEDio, the performance of Virgin Suta and the show of Quinta do Bill, which included the participation of special guests Kátia Guerreiro, Rita Red Shoes and guitarist Pedro de Castro.

 

 

This year's edition of the Iberian awards is made up of 20 categories with Iberian and national winners (decided by the public and/or panel of judges) and two categories Excellence Award (direct nomination for personality and entity of the year at the Iberian level).

The lists with the 10 finalists of the categories in which the public is decisive will be announced on the 3rd of February, while on the 17th, the TOP 10 of the categories decided by the jury will be known.

The final gala will take place on the 26th of March, at 20:00, at the Lispolis Auditorium, in Lisbon.

Since the first edition of these Iberian awards, Festival MED has been a finalist in several categories, having already won the Award for Best Medium-Sized Festival at national level (2016) and Iberian (2017 and 2018), Best Tourism Promotion at national level ( 2018 and 2020), Contribution to Sustainability at the Iberian level (2019) and Best Lusophone and Hispanic Festival at the Iberian level.

The municipality of Loulé recalls that the Iberian Festival Awards, promoted by APORFEST – Associação Portuguesa de Festivals de Música, are «the only Iberian recognition dedicated to festivals, being an important reference in the evolution of the sector».

«This event is dedicated to promoting, valuing and celebrating all professionals, partners and artists responsible for its development, growth and improvement», concludes the municipality of Loulé.
