Portimão: “Congress of Law” at ISMAT ends today

Congress has planned for this afternoon several sessions on Law, a debate and the launch of nº14 of JURISMAT

The Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (ISMAT), in Portimão, is hosting the “Congress of Law”, having planned for the afternoon of this last day, December 3rd, several sessions and a debate, on the “Right of Exception and the Covid-19 pandemic”, and the launch of JURISMAT nº 14th.

The “Congress of Law” ends this Friday with an afternoon of conferences and debates, and is scheduled to start at 15:15 with Professor Vitalino Canas, from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, speaking about “Exception and pandemic law – a constitutional perspective”.

This was followed by “Except law in the Spanish legal system”, a session led by professor Raúl Canosa (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) and then “The pandemic and international law”, with professor Francisco Ferreira de Almeida (Faculty of Law at the University of Coimbra and the Lusófona University of Lisbon).

“Exceptional Law – a perspective of Administrative Law” will also be addressed by Professor Luís Cabral de Moncada (ISMAT & Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa).

After these various sessions, there will be room for a debate, moderated by Professor Alberto de Sá e Melo (ISMAT & Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa).

At 17:00 pm, number 14 of JURISMAT will be launched, the ISMAT legal magazine that serves the publication of articles by the professors of the Law course at the Institute.

The closing of the “Congress of Law” will be in charge of Isilda Gomes, president of the Portimão Chamber, and Rui Loureiro, director of ISMAT.
