Shared management of the Vale do Guadiana Natural Park will be carried out by a commission

Technical and operational support for the Park's co-management will receive 100 euros

The new shared management of the Vale do Guadiana Natural Park will be promoted by a commission, made up of the Municipalities of Mértola and Serpa, as well as ICNF, higher and professional education institutions, environmental protection associations and other actors of local relevance.

The Chamber of Mértola signed, this Friday, the protocol for the co-management of the Vale do Guadiana Natural Park, with the Environmental Fund, represented by the Secretary General of Environment Maria Alexandra Carvalho, and with the Institute for Nature and Conservation Forests, represented by the regional director of Nature Conservation and Forests of Alentejo, Olga Carrasco Martins.

The protocol foresees the allocation of 100 thousand euros, for technical and operational support directed to priority activities to promote co-management, in the Natural Park of Vale do Guadiana.

The ceremony, which took place in the auditorium of the Vale do Guadiana Natural Park, was attended by João Palma, Mayor of Serpa, Nuno Banza, President of the Board of Directors of ICNF, and João Paulo Catrino, Secretary of State for Conservation of Nature, Forests and Spatial Planning, who presided over the signing ceremony.
