According to the statement, released on Tuesday night, on matters of consumer protection and sale of sales, between December 25, 2021 and January 09, 2022, commercial practices with reduction are prohibited in establishments. of price.

"The period for the exercise of rights attributed to the consumer that ends between December 26 and January 09, or within 10 days after that period, is extended until January 31, 2022", is also mentioned.

O Government approved on Tuesday a set of measures to control the covid-19 pandemic, taking into account the threat of the new Omicron variant, which could be responsible for around 90% of infections at the end of the year.

Decided in a Council of Ministers held in Lisbon, these measures come about a month after the Government approved, on November 25, a strategy for preventing and combating the pandemic, which the recent appearance of Ómicron forced to update.

Among the measures announced are the anticipation of the period during which telework is mandatory, determining that this regime takes effect from 00:00 on December 25, and the closure of day care centers and leisure time workshops (ATL), which was scheduled for the “week of contention” between the 03rd and 09th of January.

The closing of discotheques and bars with dance space that the Government defined for the mainland territory in the first week of January will also be anticipated, coming into effect from 00:00 on Saturday and providing support for companies.

A negative test is now mandatory for access to hotels and local accommodation establishments from 00:00 on December 25, as well as for business events and family parties, such as weddings or baptisms.

Access to sporting and cultural events will also depend on the presentation of a negative test for the coronavirus, regardless of the number of spectators.

It was also determined that the capacity of commercial spaces will be limited to one person for every five square meters to avoid gatherings that take place the week after Christmas to exchange gifts.

Gathering more than 10 people on public roads is prohibited on New Year's Eve, as is the consumption of alcoholic beverages in these public spaces.
