The Government considered this Thursday, December 2, that, despite the gradual increase in the incidence of covid-19 in Portugal, the country is still far from reaching the "red lines", particularly with regard to hospitalized patients in care intensive.

This position was conveyed by the Minister of State and the Presidency, at the end of the meeting of the Council of Ministers, in a press conference in which, at least in the short term, it ruled out new restrictive measures to combat the pandemic.

"We believe that the measures that took effect yesterday [Wednesday] are necessary," declared Mariana Vieira da Silva.

The government official also praised the degree of compliance verified in relation to these new measures, as well as the record number of tests carried out in Portugal.
