Albufeira, Loulé, Portimão, Silves and Tavira are part of the pilot project “Integrar Valoriza”, dedicated to migrants. The protocols between the local authorities and the High Commission for Migration (ACM) will be signed this Wednesday, December 22, from 17:00, at the headquarters of the Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR) of the Algarve, in Faro.

The initiative will feature the presence of Cláudia Pereira, Secretary of State for Integration and Migration.

The pilot project “integrate Valoriza” was instituted, “with a view to guaranteeing the migrant population an articulated and integrated response from the Municipalities with the various government areas and other public services, strengthening synergies that allow reaching new levels of integration”, says the CCDR /Algarve.

The Integrar Valoriza Network will allow a transversal approach in the accompaniment of immigrants, in terms of housing, employment, documentation, Portuguese language learning and applied research, among other dimensions.

In the Algarve, in the last decade, the migrant population grew, changing its weight in the total resident population from 11,6% to 14,7%.
