CHUA buys new equipment to diagnose pulmonary cancer situations

Equipment acquired with the support of the EDP Foundation's EDP Solidarity Program

The University Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHUA) already has a Bronchial Echoendoscope with a Linear Probe, which allows for the diagnosis of clinical situations of pulmonary cancer.

This new equipment was acquired with the support of EDP Foundation's EDP Solidarity Program, announced CHUA.

With the new equipment, users of the National Health Service (SNS) in the south of the country are now able to carry out regular diagnoses in clinically recommended situations, which is «a CHUA's commitment to the innovation and qualification of its offer to respond to needs of the population of the Algarve».

The implementation and implementation of the project was led by the pulmonologist Ulisses Brito, director of the CHUA Pneumology Service, who trained the professionals at the Hospital Center to carry out this diagnosis and designed the winning application for the EDP Solidarity Program of the EDP Foundation.
