Loulé Chamber Calls for Citizens Vaccination and Testing

Municipality is taking measures to contain the possible spread of Covid-19 in its territory

Loulé City Council announced this Friday, December 3, that "it is taking measures to contain the possible spread of Covid-19 in its territory, which are fundamentally based on strengthening the testing and vaccination of citizens."

Regarding testing, "which is currently assumed to be a fundamental instrument in the early detection of new cases and the emergence of outbreaks", the City Council of Loulé maintains free testing in the community, "making possible a more effective screening of the disease », says the municipality.

In this way, all citizens residing in the county will be able to undergo an antigen test per month, free of charge, without the need for a medical prescription. on this platform and wait for the respective scheduling for the walk-thru from the Algarve Stadium.

If the result is positive, the citizen should contact the SNS24 Hotline or the entity that provides the testing service (ABC – Algarve Biomedica Center) so that the appropriate PCR test can be carried out.

On the other hand, the autarchy “continues to monitor the situation of homes, where the testing of employees and collaborators of private social solidarity institutions has been carried out frequently since the beginning of the pandemic”.

With regard to vaccination, everything is prepared in the municipality so that the reinforcement with the application of the third dose (which is being given simultaneously with the seasonal flu vaccine) is carried out, as well as the inoculation of those who, for various reasons , has not yet been vaccinated.

 

 

Since the beginning of November, the Municipal Vaccination Center of Loulé has been transferred to the city's Ballroom, next to the Municipal Stadium, with «not only a large area, but also an extensive car park, which guarantees conditions to all who travel here».

This center is open from Monday to Friday, from 13:00 pm to 19:00 pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 9:00 am to 13:00 pm and from 14:00 pm to 17:00 pm.

At a time when the end of the year festivities are approaching, conducive to social and family life, the municipality “also recommends special compliance with rules such as the use of masks, regular hand disinfection, safety distance or airing of the spaces'.

With the return of Portugal to the “situation of calamity”, Loulé “remains resilient to this new wave of Covid-19, as President Vítor Aleixo guarantees: “As has happened since the emergence of the new coronavirus, almost two years ago , the City Council continues to ensure the safety of its citizens and all those in the municipality. We believe that, if we are all responsible, we will be able to overcome this wave without major problems».
