Silves Municipal Assembly approves tax exemption for merchants in 2022

This Tuesday, December 27, the Municipal Assembly of Silves unanimously approved the exemption from municipal fees for merchants during 2022. 

According to the Chamber of Silves, this measure will cover "all individuals who had their establishment of commerce, services and restaurants, closed or with activity suspended or conditioned in compliance with restrictive measures" due to Covid-19.

Through this exemption from fees, the Municipality of Silves explains that "it gives up its revenue, estimated at 226 thousand euros, to combat the negative impact of the economic paralysis."

This measure had already been decreed by the municipality for the years 2020 and 2021.
